Education

Dr. Roeder was born and raised in the Columbia River Gorge. From a young age she had a strong interest in science and went through aspirations of veterinary medicine, space medicine and teaching biology.

In high school she and her sister dissected a cow heart for a biology presentation which further spurred her interest in anatomy and physiology. Her senior project was on prevention as the cure for heart disease. She went on to the University of Washington to study biology and chemistry. Between college and medical school she worked as a phlebotomist at Harborview Medical Center and continued her college job of lifeguard and swim instructor at the Seattle Children’s Hospital Therapy Pool. She joined the second class at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. After medical school she completed residency at Family Medicine of Southwest Washington. She and her family moved to Anacortes in 2016 where she began work as a full spectrum family physician at Island Hospital, providing obstetric care, inpatient medicine and outpatient care.

Dr. Roeder loves caring for whole families through all life stages. She has particular interests in Lifestyle Medicine, Women’s Health, and Pediatrics. She plans to become board certified in Lifestyle Medicine in 2024.

In her free time she is with her husband and two children sailing, gardening, trail running and reading health books. She and her family love Anacortes and are grateful for the wonderful community.
