Frequently Asked Questions
-
Direct Primary Care is a membership model of medical care that provides you with direct access to your primary care doctor in exchange for a modest membership fee. Patients choose direct primary care, because unlike many traditional, insurance based practices, DPC allows patients easy, direct access to their doctor, unrushed appointments and a personal doctor-patient relationship. Family physicians can help with many medical problems, thus saving you from urgent care and ER visits with same day and next day appointments. The cost of an annual membership is often less than an ER bill.
-
Patients are encouraged to have health insurance for services not included in your DPC membership (emergency room visits, hospitalizations, prescriptions, labs, imaging, specialty care). Many patients have found high deductible, low premium insurance plans save patients money and work well with DPC membership.

Dr. Roeder can accept Medicare beneficiaries into her practice because, as required by law, she has opted out of Medicare. This also means that both you and the practice are prohibited by law from billing for, or seeking reimbursement from, Medicare for any services that are provided to you by the practice. You may, however, request that outside pharmacies, labs, imaging facilities — that fill the prescriptions and perform the testing which Dr. Roeder orders — submit their charges to Medicare for reimbursement consideration. As a patient, it is important that you understand your health plan’s coverage policies because we cannot guarantee coverage.
-
Patients may request enrollment directly from the website. Steps will follow from there to schedule an appointment and complete new patient forms. If interested in the practice but not ready to enroll, patents may schedule a free 15 minute meet and greet practice visit or phone call. Once established with the practice, patients are encouraged to self-schedule online but can always call if needed. Patients are encouraged to use the ER for emergencies as Dr. Roeder is unable to provide emergency care.
-
Dr. Roeder will do her best to respond to after hours calls in a timely manner and accommodate urgent needs as she is able. Dr. Roeder does not provide emergency or traditional urgent care services. Patients can expect same day and next day appointments which will likely save trips to the ER and walk in clinic.
-
Dr. Roeder will notify patients in advance when she will be unavailable.
-
Dr. Roeder is able to collect labs in the office or patients can have labs done at a lab of their choice. Patients may submit lab charges to insurance or pay a reduced cash price. Imaging can be done at a location preferred by the patient.
-
We are unable to offer vaccines in the clinic at this time. Vaccines can be obtained at local pharmacies for age 6 months and up or the county health department.
